Repair the fault, not automatically replace the system
A failed door-entry system is disruptive for residents, visitors and deliveries. We start by checking the symptoms and testing the equipment so the likely cause is identified before replacement parts or a new system are recommended.
Common door-entry faults we investigate
- The entrance door does not release when the button is pressed.
- The flat or office buzzer does not ring.
- You can hear the visitor, but they cannot hear you, or the other way round.
- Speech is quiet, distorted, crackling or intermittent.
- An internal handset, call button, power supply or electric lock has stopped working.
- The door releases constantly, works intermittently or does not close securely.
- Fobs, keypads or access credentials are not operating correctly.
What a fault visit covers
We check the reported fault, test the handset and entrance equipment, inspect accessible wiring and power supplies, and assess the electric lock or release. Where a compatible part is available, we can often repair or replace the failed component without changing the whole system.
Communal systems can involve equipment serving several flats and access may be needed at both the entrance and the affected property. We will explain this before the visit where possible.

Audio and video intercoms

Electric locking and door release
